Train Station of the Year award
Train stations are important to people. They are a public transport hub, the gateway to a city and a place to meet – train stations move people. This is demonstrated by the enormous media echo given to the Pro-Rail Alliance’s ‘Train Station of the Year’ competition, which annually honours one station in a larger city and one in a smaller town. With the emphasis on the customers’ point of view, the Pro-Rail Alliance puts the spotlight on the successful modernisation of many train stations, including smaller ones. At the same time it also draws attention to the shared responsibility for all of Germany’s 5,400 train stations.
